April Fools

"The production of the products of labor is pretext and cover for the...exploitation and oppression of the laborers. The scientific method of concealing this state of affairs is called political economy."

Vacant arcades
where tired spirits
breathe heterodoxy

Every age exhales its end
                  this world never
                    needs saving.

The ornament,
     fossils in
cracked mirrors.

One moment please. We must determine whether your insurance covers this and, by good fortune it does, calculate the deductible.

Reverie's Wreckage

"A skeleton turning into a tree, with legs and ribs forming the trunk, the arms stretched out to make a cross and bursting into leaves and buds, sheltering several rows of poisonous plants in little pots, lined up as if in a gardener's hothouse." ---Charles Baudelaire, (Instruction on Frontispiece for Les Fleurs du mal)

The Obliviousness of a Military Occupation Attempting to "Win Hearts and Minds" and the Insanity of Asking, "Why Do They Hate Us?"

16 Afghan Civilians, mostly women and children, were executed in their sleep by US Soldier(s) and then burned in attempt to cover up atrocity. (In Iraq they called in missile strikes after a similar atrocity.) The "Rogue", lone actor, scenario is being used, again, to stress this isn't the norm. They used it for Haditha and other atrocities in Iraq("rogue actors" at Abu Ghraib). As in Haditha massacre, the alleged "rogue" soldier is an officer. Civilians deaths in Afghanistan have been under reported by US/NATO forces and embedded journalists. Just as they were in Iraq, Libya.

America, The Party Ain't Jumping Like It Used To

I am not advocating violence. Heaven forbid! But when the Executive claims the right to kill any citizen it deigns a terrorist without due process, in complete secrecy, its time to move on. Earlier today Congress, with only a few holdouts from bi-partisan unanimity, passed a bill outlawing protest in accommodatingly vague terms. When are "you gon learn"? A general strike and no confidence boycott of the election would be fitting. Let the mass marketed warlord fundraising pageants burn.

Coup de main

Yellow sundress
blast by April sun
births the coup.

Light reigns
for a cursory

The sundress sets,
April disrobes.

Covetous hands
cradle fallout.
