Amish Boys


Smiles broad as
wide brimmed hats,
dazzling in the
Sun-wash...

Lashes long peacock tails
strike softly on lids

A few times more
and we're buried
'neath musty hay.

"Dazzling in the sun wash" would be the only tweak I'd make in this delicious boy scene. Oh David, this is such a cheerful poem; I can feel the dry warmth and imagine the soft tumble. Bey
