An Epitaph

"In all societies, which are simply a union of minds, a common character is formed. This universal soul adopts a way of thinking which is the effect of a chain of infinite causes which multiply and combine century by century. Once the tone has been given and received, it alone governs, and everything that sovereigns, magistrates, and peoples may do or imagine, whether it seems to conflict with the tone or to follow it, always relates to it, and it dominates even the total destruction of the society."

May Tricks

So many titles for us:
Consumer, citizen, worker, and the ponderous
Community;
Take those pills.
They may not make life better,
but best to make it go.

Be thankful the great few
acknowledge us in classified
nomenclature.

Subjects of charts and graphs,
stacked higher than Babel,

Reaching a reasonable Heaven
supervisory Gods orchestrate.

We must cherish sacrifice,
for we are always asleep.

They live our collective dream.
Our civic duty is to be happy
(Collateral damage of

Their license demands our payment.

Marion Heights, August 1952

Agnes smiled when Lover dropper her off and said he'd be around to pick her up at closing time. She'd heard that before. He laughed when Agnes took up the wagon and guaranteed she wouldn't need it.
It was late August. The days were dry and warm. Around 4 cool winds came as the Sun lowered. At 5 Agnes stopped working and gathered up groceries to take home.
The sky spread callous orange above the store's closing. Agnes stood out front waiting for Lover. The owner wished Agnes good evening and walked to his house across the street. She bowed her head a little and told him to have a nice evening.
Lover was across town at the Tavern on his 5th round. Life's good when others buy long as he keeps singing "Old Shep".
Agnes took her wagon down the road home. Cool wind stroked her graying black hair back. She was 35 with a youthful face, her body strong. Home's only 2 more miles, no better weather for a long walk.
When Mr. Bell slowed to a stop beside Agnes and offered a ride, she turned her head, laughed, and said the exercise kept her young.
Dusk gave to night as Agnes pulled her wagon into the door. Her sister had the kids. Lover wasn't home.

The World's Indispensable Killer and Arms Dealer

"I can go no farther here. I should be counted censorious, and perhaps unjust, if I should enter into the unpleasing work of reflecting, whatever cause there was for it, upon the unthankfulness and return of all manner of wickedness among us, which I was so much of an eye-witness of myself."

K/M

"It is quite true what philosophy says; that life must be understood backwards. But then one forgets the other principle: that it must be lived forwards. Which principle, the more one thinks it through, ends exactly with the thought that temporal life can never properly be understood precisely because I can at no instant find complete rest in which to adopt a position: backwards."

                                                 Soren Kierkegaard, Journals IV A 164 (1843)

11

Philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is to change it.

                    Marx, Theses On Feuerbach (1845)

Das Atta Kapitroll

Three cheers for the Lumpenproletariat Marx despised. Disciplined workers as the ultimate bearers of class consciousness betrays a burgher's(or bookkeeper's) priggishness. Marxism should welcome those who refuse to engage in disciplined labor. Lumpenproletarians shirking socially accepted forms of labor amply display keen class consciousness. To exclude them renders the anointed working class's "heroic struggle" reactionary.

"Fiat Justitia Ruat Caelum"

The vindictiveness of those embarrassed by Snowden’s whistle blowing burns a Bonfire of Surveillance State Vanity for anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear. The same can be said of the “treatment” Imperial jackals provided for Bradley Manning. Law is not an issue. Terror is deemed the most efficient form of “justice”(cf. JSOC Night Raids, Signature Drone Strikes, Militarized Police, old Espionage Act wine poured into new skin and used against Dissent).
Remember Obama’s opening words to the world when he proudly announced the due process free execution of a useful and powerless bogeyman: “Justice was done.” He placed his cards on the table that night. America cheered.

Samsara

"The few own the many because they possess the means of livelihood of all ... The country is governed for the richest, for the corporations, the bankers, the land speculators, and for the exploiters of labor. The majority of mankind are working people. So long as their fair demands—the ownership and control of their livelihoods—are set at naught, we can have neither men's rights nor women's rights. The majority of mankind is ground down by industrial oppression in order that the small remnant may live in ease."
—Helen Keller, 1911.

The Sun was covered

Regal night arose,
Queen of day's broken promise,
 spray of stars
her shattered crown.

Arbors

Terpsichore's on tree-tops
swaying gently

She reins in the rough arc

The forest is drunk
with insentient song.

Ghosts of melodies
haunt your ear,
late traveler.

Unsettled by life's absence,
it's not your hollow breast...
Some youthful egress?
Give it a name.
Still bewilderment
keeps you wakeful
'til pale moon's
panned away
by morn's gold.

Destabilize Kosovo arming and funding Al Qaeda affiliated drug runners and human organ traffickers. Incite Serbian response and trigger refugee crisis. Use violence and refugee crisis to call for unilateral US/NATO bombing of Serbia and Kosovo(targeting infrastructure, media centers, and urban areas with cluster bombs). Growth Demands Love Among the Ruins at Lower Prices

Over 1,000 lovers died so Western garment peddlers could sell hip clothing cheaper in "more advanced and enlightened societies". Out of love, economists comfort Western clothes horses by calmly producing graphs and charts proving this sacrifice is necessary for "growth" in "less advanced societies".

Happy May Day! (Remember, You Have the Right to Be Lazy)

A strange delusion possesses the working classes of the nations where capitalist civilization holds its sway. This delusion drags in its train the individual and social woes which for two centuries have tortured sad humanity. This delusion is the love of work, the furious passion for work, pushed even to the exhaustion of the vital force of the individual and his progeny. Instead of opposing this mental aberration, the priests, the economists and the moralists have cast a sacred halo over work. Blind and finite men, they have wished to be wiser than their God; weak and contemptible men, they have presumed to rehabilitate what their God had cursed. I, who do not profess to be a Christian, an economist or a moralist, I appeal from their judgement to that of their God; from the preachings of their religious, economics or free thought ethics, to the frightful consequences of work in capitalist society.
In capitalist society work is the cause of all intellectual degeneracy, of all organic deformity. Compare the thorough-bred in Rothschild’s stables, served by a retinue of bipeds, with the heavy brute of the Norman farms which plows the earth, carts the manure, hauls the crops. Look at the noble savage whom the missionaries of trade and the traders of religion have not yet corrupted with Christianity, syphilis and the dogma of work, and then look at our miserable slaves of machines.

---Paul Lafargue, The Right to Be Lazy, Chp. 1.

Occupy Boston Strong, A Resounding Success

A security failure by authorities led to the imposition of Martial Law on an entire metropolitan area in the United States. An army of 9,000 authorities, with military vehicles, well armed in battle gear, descended on a city. An awe struck media served as a loyal claque for these forces to viewers all over the world.

All of this for a manhunt to capture TWO SUSPECTS.

The occupation of a city by militarized police ended when a near dead kid was found and taken into custody. Crowds burst out on the street and cheered "We got him!". Reminiscent of the gleeful crowds rushing to the streets after Osama Bin Laden was assassinated. Columns of militarized police vehicles, SWAT Teams, and regular police vehicles were cheered by thankful citizens.

The same authorities who failed to detect bombs in two sweeps of The Boston Marathon before the event and one just an hour before the explosions were now heroes.

Authorities have learned from New Orleans(after Katrina, a devastated city with no media coverage, police and military forces killed civilians), and now Boston, that most Americans are fine with Martial Law as long as some "bad guys" are captured or killed. Expect more manhunts, more National Guard flooding into shut down cities to assist in manhunts, for the protection of Americans.

In a Statement to the Nation President Obama kept in tune by claiming these two suspects were "terrorists", as head of Executive Branch of Gov't he asserted their guilt before charges were filed(as he did with Pfc. Bradley Manning), and the authorities did their jobs admirably to protect citizens. He capped off honoring the militarized police by closing his statement with the last line of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Media alchemy helped authorities turn their security failure and overzealous response into a resounding success. They cheered the shut down and occupation of a city. Cooperated wholeheartedly in a real time "Cops: City Occupation and Manhunt" episode. Were regularly spoon fed reports from FBI, etc, often false, but nobody cared then or now...One bad guy was killed, and the other was captured near death!(bring out the flags!)

Occupy Wall Street was never granted such friendly and helpful coverage. Media was too busy ignoring it or justifying and excusing the brutality of the same guys they helped make protective heroes this time.

They support the abuses of authorities and ignore or deride the legitimate protest of citizens.

Therefore Promethean Poets with the coles
Of their most geniale, more-then-humane soules
In living verse, created men like these,
With shapes of Centaurs, Harpies, Lapithes,
That they in prime of erudition,
When almost savage vulgar men were growne,
Seeing them selves in those Pieran founts,
Might mend their mindes, asham'd of such accounts.

Constructed Foes, Pretexts

"Such a perfect democracy constructs its own inconceivable foe, terrorism. Its wish is to be judged by its enemies rather than by its results. The story of terrorism is written by the state and it is therefore highly instructive. The spectators must certainly never know everything about terrorism, but they must always know enough to convince them that, compared with terrorism, everything else must be acceptable, or in any case more rational and democratic."

The Genocide Implemented on Iraq Is Not a "Mistake". It's a Conscious Policy of US/NATO Establishment, Through Aggressive War, Sanctions, and Black Operations, to Destroy a Society

Predator with prey.

Sanctions on Iraq caused the deaths of millions, mostly women and children.

One of these men was not a participant for over 20 years of Genocide in Iraq.

For over 20 years both parties in the US, and its NATO allies in Europe, engaged in a calculated assault on the Iraqi people. The genocide practiced in Iraq started long ago and has not ended. It was not a "mistake". It was well planned and championed by an overwhelming majority of establishment politicians, media figures, and policy "experts". Even today 41% of the American people feel the Iraqi War of 2003(a single stage in a long line of genocidal policies practiced on Iraq) was justified. George H. W. Bush began the crime spree with Desert Storm, no fly zones, and sanctions. Clinton continued it with a carpet bombing, routine bombings, and tougher sanctions. His hopes to engage in aggressive war on Iraq were stymied by lack of popular support. Maybe he can find comfort in the fact that more Iraqis died under his sanctions and bombings than under any other US President. George W. Bush took the torch, used a massive security failure in the US(9/11), a pliant media(NYT, WaPo, Every TV News Network) leaking false intelligence about Iraq obtaining Uranium, developing WMDs, and engaging with 9/11 hijackers, to begin a new phase of aggression on an already broken nation: "Shock and Awe". US pols and journalists crowed about sending Iraq back to "The Stone Age". As of today:

                               MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Thank you enlightened Western Powers!

"They seemed just then and there, for a mind fed betimes on the Leatherstocking Tales, to project as in a flash an image in itself immense, but foreshortened and simplified--reducing to a single smooth stride the bloody footsteps of time. One rubbed one's eyes, but there, at its highest polish, shining in the beautiful day, was the brazen face of history, and there, all about one, immaculate, the printless pavements of the State."

America, Worst Reality Show Forever

Flanked by trained killers in uniform, an ebullient First Lady announces film depicting the CIA as crafty heroes in league with Hollywood producers a winner.

"My foregrounds are imaginary, my backgrounds real."
                                                 -------Gustave Flaubert

Quarterly "budget crises" loom, igniting fire in the tinder minds of partisans. It's not real, but repetition gives it weight; like drowned women once proved witches and tortured or assassinated Muslims now prove terrorists. (Both achieved through a "legitimate legal process".)

We cannot forget, ever, there are enemies everywhere plotting to destroy our "way of life". They have names: Socialists, Anarchists, Communists, Fundamentalists, Terrorists, et al.. God forbid we stop funding the world's greatest murder machine forever in its mission to sustain peace and freedom for everyone.

Principalities sing threats and crises daily in every medium.

Can it be more real?

"The Light of Reason"

"Did the light of Reason make the earth for some men to ingrosse up into bags and barns, that others might be opprest with poverty? Did the light of Reason make this law, that if one man did not have such and abundance of the earth as to give to others he borrowed of; that he that did lend should imprison the other, and starve his body in a close room? Did the light of Reason make this law, that some part of mankinde should kill and hang another part of mankinde, that would not walk in their steps?"

Vice President Al Gore Singles Out Senator Biden for His Outstanding Work on the 1994 Crime Bill(Intensifying Racist Drug War and Empowering Police to Crush Rights of Citizens and Fill Jails and Prisons with "Undesirables")

The war on the poor and minorities required a bill to make police shock troops "in every community".

"100,000 more policemen in your communities." "3 strikes and you're out." etc.

A reminder of how the enemies of the marginalized---poor, minorities, etc--love to memorialize their assaults on those "communities" through legislation and say it's all "for the children". Black History Month shouldn't pass without highlighting past betrayals from supposed "friends".

From Clinton's speech:

"We will slash 270,000 jobs from Federal Gov't to take money out and use to hire 100,000 more policemen and build more prisons to put violent criminals in."

Austerity + Al Qaeda = More Specie for NATO Intervention in Africa and Asia

Mali is not the new home of Al Qaeda. It is the home of refugees from Libya. The home of Al Qaeda has always been nations US/NATO invade or bomb: Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, and now Mali. Nations where US/NATO desire regime change to secure "interests". In Kosovo, Libya, and Syria Al Qaeda affiliated groups were armed, trained and given funds for "organic uprisings". Either way, Al Qaeda is always an instrument of US/NATO intervention.

"Paternalist Racism" from Taft to McChrystal: "Responsibility" to Occupy and Slaughter Less Mature Humans Abroad Never Changes

“Like a teenager, you really don’t want your parents hanging around you, but … you like to know if things go bad, they’re going to help,” he said.
“We have an emotional responsibility” to leave US occupying forces in Afghanistan, he told AP.
-- Stanley McChrystal, 2013.

Taft "assured President McKinley that 'our little brown brothers' would need 'fifty or one hundred years' of close supervision 'to develop anything resembling Anglo-Saxon political principles and skills.'", and reports that the military greeted Taft's assertion "that 'Filipinos are moved by similar considerations to those which move other men' with utter scorn".

Modern Science and Experimentation: Liturgy that Provides Statements "Meant Much More Seriously"

"Since the time of Galileo and Newton, modern science has been based upon a detailed study of nature and upon the postulate that only such statements should be made, as have been verified or at least can be verified by experiment. The idea that one could single out some events from nature by an experiment, in order to study the details and to find out what is the constant law in the continuous change, did not occur to the Greek philosophers. Therefore, modern science has from its beginning stood upon a much more modest, but at the same time firmer, basis than ancient philosophy. Therefore, the statements of modern physics are in some way meant much more seriously than the statements of Greek philosophy."
